If you’ve ever sat down to “sort” your content and just thought, “What the hell do I even post about?”, then this guide is for you!
Table of Contents
June is such a great month – Summer is basically here and the fun is just beginning! For our audiences, they may be preparing to take time off – for a holiday, or juggling childcare – and it may be a busy time all round.
They might be spending more time outside, and so may not be consuming online content in the same way they were earlier in the year, but that doesn’t mean they’ve disappeared.
In fact, summer is still a peak time for consuming content – I know I did quite a lot of scrolling while on my holiday as a way to “relax”!
But what instead changes is the type of content they want to see.
Something that perhaps feels a bit lighter, more relatable, and easier to engage with performs really well.
So remember: people are still scrolling.
They’re still looking for inspiration, solutions, reassurance, and connection.
They just want it in a way that fits the season we’re now in.
So that’s why this month’s content ideas I’m sharing are really focused on sharing you as a human.
As always, quality matters far more than quantity, and I’m not here to tell you to spend your whole summer glued to your phone creating content.
This is where planning ahead and creating intentional content now can make a huge difference.
If you’d like support mapping this out in a way that actually works for your time and energy, this is exactly what we do inside The Party Starter.
We take ideas like these and turn them into a clear, manageable plan for your content and email marketing.
June also brings a mix of seasonal themes and awareness moments, from World Environment Day and Father’s Day to the summer solstice and conversations around productivity.
These can be useful starting points, but your content doesn’t need to revolve around awareness days themselves. Instead of focusing on the day, think about the wider conversations, and emotions happening around them.
That is where your best content will come from.
Everything I am sharing here can be used across your marketing.
These ideas can become social posts, emails, blog content, or all three.
Start with the idea, then choose the format that feels easiest for you to show up with.
Key June dates to be aware of
• 5th June — World Environment Day
• 20th June — World Productivity Day
• 21st June — Summer Solstice
• 21st June — Father’s Day
Idea 1: Start talking about summer now
Hook: POV: you make this summer the one where you [X]
People are already thinking ahead to summer, even if it’s not fully started yet!
They’re imagining holidays, slower days, time outside, and how they want the next few months to feel.
This makes June a brilliant time for content that taps into aspiration and possibility.
You can help your audience picture what their summer could look like with the right support, habits, mindset, or preparation in place – like working with you!
Best format: B-roll reel or text-led reel
Examples:
- Photographer: show how capturing moments properly lets people actually enjoy their summer instead of documenting every second
- Nutritionist: talk about creating realistic routines that still allow space for summer plans and spontaneity
- Coach: speak about building a business that supports time off and flexibility during summer
What to be careful of: Avoid making summer feel like another thing people need to “perfect”.
Idea 2: Position your offer for summer
Hook: This is the perfect time to tell you that you can [X] this summer
June is a great time to position your service around what people want more of during summer.
That could be ease, confidence, memories, support, structure, energy, flexibility, or simply making life easier.
This kind of content works because it connects your service to the season people are already thinking about.
Best format: Talking head reel or carousel
Examples:
- Photographer: position a family shoot or branding shoot as something people will treasure looking back on after summer
- Nutritionist: share how your approach supports enjoying summer without guilt or restriction
- Coach: explain how your service can help someone head into summer feeling calmer and more confident
What to be careful of: Keep it helpful rather than overly sales-focused.
Idea 3: Share what people always get wrong this time of year
Hook: Everyone thinks they should be doing [X] right now…
This is strong positioning content because it allows you to challenge common assumptions and share your point of view.
June often comes with pressure to do more, make the most of everything, or suddenly “transform themselves” before summer.
You can use this content to cut through the noise and explain what actually matters from your perspective.
Best format: Talking head reel
Examples:
- Photographer: explain why people do not need perfectly planned moments for meaningful photos
- Nutritionist: challenge the pressure around “summer body” messaging
- Coach: talk about why people do not need to completely reinvent themselves halfway through the year
What to be careful of: Make sure your opinion is grounded in your real experience and values, not just said for attention.
Idea 4: Instagram versus reality
Hook: What makes it to Instagram versus what doesn’t. [industry] edition. (or edit for your platform of choice)
People are craving more honesty and relatability online right now! This kind of content works well because it breaks down the polished version people usually see and shows a more human side to your work or life.
It’s also naturally really engaging and highly shareable!
Best format: Reel with trending audio or two slide carousel
Examples:
- Photographer: show the beautiful final gallery versus the chaotic behind-the-scenes moments
- Nutritionist: compare aesthetically plated meals with quick real-life lunches
- Coach: show the polished workshop clip versus the prep, nerves, or messy desk behind it
What to be careful of: Keep it playful and relatable rather than negative or overly self-deprecating.
Idea 5: If I had to restart from scratch…
Hook: If I had to restart [X] from scratch, here’s what I’d do.
This is a brilliant trust-building format because it positions you as someone who has real experience and perspective.
You’re essentially helping people skip any mistakes and positions you as the expert.
Best format: Carousel or voiceover reel
Examples:
- Photographer: share what you would focus on if you were rebuilding your portfolio from the beginning
- Nutritionist: explain the simple habits you would prioritise first instead of overcomplicating things
- Coach: talk about the foundations you would focus on if starting your business journey again
What to be careful of: Keep it practical and specific rather than vague motivational advice.
Idea 6: Create a “week in review” video carousel
Hook: A little look at my week lately…
Video carousels are becoming increasingly popular, especially when they feel natural and easy to swipe through.
Think of this like a photo dump, but using short video clips instead!
This kind of content gives your audience a genuine glimpse into your world and works great in summer, as people are naturally drawn towards more behind-the-scenes content.
If it fits your brand, this can also tie beautifully into World Environment Day by showing more outdoor moments, nature, slower routines, local spaces, or parts of your environment that feel calming.
Best format: Video carousel (add text over the slides or keep them simple)
Examples:
- Photographer: clips from outdoor shoots, editing in the garden, or scouting locations
- Nutritionist: local food shopping, seasonal meals, walks, or realistic routines
- Coach: working outdoors, journalling, coffee shop working, or snippets of client prep
What to be careful of: Keep clips short and varied so people keep swiping through.
Idea 7: Share the summer version of your service
Hook: If I were helping you this summer, here’s what I’d tell you…
This is a great way to adapt your expertise to the season.
Your audience’s priorities, routines, and challenges often change during summer, so this content helps show how your work fits into real life. It also makes your advice feel timely and relevant.
Best format: Talking head reel or carousel
Examples:
- Photographer: share advice for capturing meaningful summer memories without constantly being on your phone
- Nutritionist: talk about balancing holidays, meals out, and routines realistically
- Coach: explain how to stay connected to goals without rigid routines during summer
What to be careful of: Avoid making people feel guilty for slowing down or enjoying summer.
Idea 8: Share your own mid-year reflection
Hook: Halfway through the year and honestly…
June is a natural point for reflection as we come to the end of Q2.
People are often looking back at the goals, plans, or expectations they had at the start of the year and comparing them to what actually happened!
Sharing your own reflections, lessons, wins, or challenges helps your audience connect with you on a deeper level.
Best format: Talking head reel or caption-led post
Examples:
- Photographer: reflect on how your work or creativity has evolved this year
- Nutritionist: share a lesson you have personally learnt around balance or wellbeing
- Coach: talk honestly about what business has looked like behind the scenes this year
What to be careful of: Keep it honest and reflective without turning it into a long vent.
Idea 9: Speak to what your audience might need to hear right now
Hook: If you feel behind right now, read this.
By June, a lot of people start feeling pressure around where they “should” be by now.
This kind of content works because it acknowledges those feelings while offering encouragement, perspective, or reassurance.
Sometimes the most valuable thing your audience needs is permission to stop being so hard on themselves.
Best format: Carousel
Examples:
- Photographer: reassure people that meaningful moments do not need perfect timing or planning
- Nutritionist: speak about consistency over perfection during busy seasons
- Coach: remind people they do not need to have the whole year figured out by June
What to be careful of: Avoid generic motivational quotes. Make it feel grounded and genuine.
Idea 10: Summer productivity reality check
Hook: You don’t need to “make the most” of every second this summer.
World Productivity Day creates a really interesting opportunity to challenge hustle culture and unrealistic expectations around productivity.
A lot of people feel pressure to optimise every moment, especially during summer.
This is your opportunity to share your way of working and your viewpoint on productivity.
Best format: Talking head reel or voiceover reel
Examples:
- Photographer: talk about being present rather than trying to perfectly capture every moment
- Nutritionist: share why balance matters more than rigid routines during summer
- Coach: challenge the idea that rest means laziness or lack of ambition
What to be careful of: Make sure you are offering perspective and support rather than judgement.
